Another cache in a National Numbered Series of Letterbox Hybrid caches, placed to mark one of a diminishing number of post boxes placed in Queen Victoria’s reign and still in use for regular collections by Royal Mail.
A few simple guidelines apply to the series (subject to amendment):
- The post box must carry the Royal Cipher of Queen Victoria (in whatever format)
- The box must have regular collections by Royal Mail
- The box must be in the British Isles (so United Kingdom and adjoining Crown Dependencies).
- Any style or colour of box are valid as long as the above all apply.
The Cache Location
There are a number of caches along the Coastal path leading to the Giant's Causeway.

The Cache.
This is a Letterbox Hybrid and the final location is a short walk from the posted coordinates. In fact it is "Round the corner, not far away... " You will find a stamper in the container which is not a swop. Please leave it for the next cacher.
There are two ways to find the final location.
- You can use Coordinate Projection to find the final location. The cache is 30.5 metres away from the posted coordinates on a bearing of 211.5 degrees.
- Visit the Postbox at the posted coordinates, and look for the latest collection in the area. It is made at 6.00pm from Coleraine Delivery Office. Put the numbers that precede New Row, as written, into Certitude to obtain more detailed instructions.
You can validate your puzzle solution with
certitude.
If you know of an eligible post box and would like to add to this series, please apply to Team Hippo for a series number, giving the following:
- Location as in place name (and street if applicable)
- Location in Lat Long format (DD MM.MMM)
- Postbox number
Please note that featured post boxes should comply with the guidelines above. Caches should be Letterbox Hybrid type (and therefore contain a LB stamp), whether placed at the published co-ords, or a simple offset multi, or multi-stage multi, or more of a puzzle style format.
