A very simple magnetic nano 'cache and dash', placed near to the family home where I grew up as a boy.
This cache helps to break up a long section of the Langley Loop Adventure Lab cache if you're doing that, but can be done as a stand-alone if you're not. Some stealth is required here as the junction can get busy and cars sometimes queue up along the road.
The image is a 1937 Talbot Lago T150 SS, which I hoped this road was named after when I was a kid.
"Automobiles Talbot S.A." was a French car manufacturer based in Suresnes near Paris (est'd. 1896), producing both standard road-use cars and also racing competition cars under the name 'Talbot-Darracq'.
In 1932 after the onset of the Great Depression, Italian-British engineer/business-man Antonio Lago was appointed Managing Director to try to save the business from the terrible economic conditions. He was unable to save the company, but in 1936 he was able to complete a management buy-out from the receivers.
Following this, Lago steadily updated and replaced the range of cars, developing the older 6-cylinder engines into high-performance 4-litre engines, which resulted in an extremely successful period of racing history with models such as the T150 Coupe.
After World War II, new economic pressures and shifting tastes within the automobile market began to take their toll on Talbot and, in 1959, the business was sold to rival manufacturer SIMCA. Tony Lago died in 1960.
In today's classic car market Talbot-Lago models are very much sought after, changing hands at auction for close to $5 million.
