[RO] Tăul fără fund
Tăul fără fund sau Mlaştina de la Peşteana este un loc special. Cu câteva mii de ani în urmă, aici se afla un lac. Ȋntre timp, acesta s-a umplut cu materiale, iar în partea superioară a apei, au crescut strate adânci de muşchi. Condiţiile speciale de temperature şi umiditate de aici păstrează specii de plante care în alte părţi, au dispărut de mii de ani. Muşchiul este format din Polytricum strictum, Sphagnum recurvum var, amblyphyllum şi Sphagnum magellanicum. De jur împrejurul mlaştinii cresc mesteceni Betula Pendula, arini Alnus glutinosa, aluni Corylus avellana, plopi Populus tremula şi sălcii Salix cinerea. Ȋn interiorul tăului sunt specii de bumbăcariţă Eriophorum vaginatum, trifoişte de baltă Menyanthes trifoliata şi rogoz Carex stellulata, Carex rostrata. Însă cea mai cunoscută planta de aici este “Roua cerului” - Drosera rotundifolia.
Drosera este o planta carnivoră, una dintre puţinele care trăiesc în România. O planta poate consuma în jur de 50 de insecte pe an. Florile apar în luna august, sunt mici şi albe, la capatul unei tulpini înalte de 15-20 cm. Frunzele sunt partea cea mai interesantă a Droseriei. Perişorii de pe acestea secretă un suc lipicios asemănător cu o picătură de rouă. Insectele de mici dimensiuni sunt ademenite de culoarea frunzei şi captate de perişori. Aceştia secretă enzyme care sufocă insecta, apoi o digeră timp de câteva zile. La final rămâne doar scheletul chitinos al insectei, iar frunza este gata pentru o nouă pradă.
Tăul Fără Fund are şi o altă semnificaţie. Oamenii din Peşteana spun că Tâul comunică cu Marea Neagră printr-un tunel subteran şi că forţele răului atrag aici, din când în cand, animale sau oameni care sunt traşi în apă şi nu mai sunt văzuţi niciodată.
ATENŢIE: Tăul Fără Fund este o rezervaţie botanică protejată! Dacă doriţi ca toată lumea să se bucure de Roua Cerului, acum şi în viitor, nu rupeţi florile sau muşchiul şi nu încercaţi să luaţi plante cu rădăcină acasă. Nu vor supravieţui !.
Pentru siguranţa dumneavoastră: nu vă abateţi de la traseul marcat şi nu călcaţi în afara platformei. Muşchiul este foarte fragil şi vă puteţi afunda în apa de sub acesta.

[EN] The Bottomless Pond
The Bottomless Pond or the Marsh from Pesteana is a special place. Thousands of years ago there was a lake here. Meanwhile it has been filled with material and in the upper part of the water deep layers of the moss grew. The specific conditions of temperature and humidity preserve plant species that have disappeared elsewhere for thousands of years. The moss is composed of Polytricum strictum, Sphagnum recurvum var, amblyphyllum şi Sphagnum magellanicum. Around the swamp grows the birch Betula Pendula, the alder Alnus glutinosa, the hazel Corylus avellana, the poplar Populus tremula and the willow Salix cinerea. Inside the pond you can find Eriophorum vaginatum, Menyanthes trifoliata and Carex stellulata, Carex rostrata. But the best known plant is “The Sundew” - Drosera rotundifolia.
Drosera is a carnivorous plant, one of the few living in Romania. A plant can consume 50 insects per year. The flowers appear in August, they are small and white at the end of steams 15-20 cm high. The leaves are the most interesting part of Drosera. The hairs on them secrete a sticky juice, similar to a dew drop. Small insects are lured by the leaf colour and gets caught in the hairs. They secrete enzymes that suffocate the insect and digest it for several days. Finally, only the skeleton of the insect remains, and the leaf is ready for a new prey.
The Bottomless Pond has another meaning. People from Peşteana village say that it communicates with the Black Sea through a tunnel and evil forces occasionally attract animals and people here who are drown to water and not be seen again.
ATTENTION: The Bottomless Pond is a botanical protected area ! If you want everyone to enjoy the Sundew now and in the future, do not pick the flowers or gather the moss. Do not try to take plants with roots. They will not survive !
For your safety: do not deviate from the trail and do not step off the platform. The moss is very fragile and you can sink into the water below.
