My love for reading and books started in elementary school. As an elementary school teacher and a parent, I have discovered so many great children’s books. Through this series, I hope you might be reminded of a favorite childhood book or maybe be intrigued enough to read a new one!
Stellaluna by Janell Cannon. A young fruit bat, Stellaluna, becomes separated from her mother and lands in a nest of birds. She is adopted by them and learns bird-like behavior. Eventually, Stellaluna reunites with her mother, where she learns how to behave like a bat. Despite their many differences, Stellaluna and the birds decide they will remain friends. A great lesson in acceptance.
I would suggest parking in the apartment complex or near the dog park and walk this series. I parked around N 35° 56.780' W 78° 49.330'
