How often have you headed out to look for a cache, only to find that if you had read the description earlier you would have made it a heck of a lot easier for yourself. There is a cache about 170 metres away where it is important to have the sun and moon in the correct alignment, otherwise you may have a soaking experience, or decided that it isn't worth the effort. Well, this cache has been placed to at least give you some sort of reward for coming out here if you have found that you have to forgo getting the other one. It is best to approach the cache from the shared walking/cycling track that runs beside it. No need for any climbing. The most enjoyable way to get there is by cycling, especially on a nice, rather calm day, or by walking/running where you can enjoy the view of what is going on in the nearby water. This week I saw a sea lion feeding just a few metres from the sea wall with an audience of cyclist who had stopped to watch the action. Gulls and shags are usually sighted. There are a few car parking spots nearby and bus no 18 goes by. It runs every hour except at peak times during the working week it is every 30 minutes. The nearest bus stops seem to be about 300 metre or so past the cache , near St Ronans St. The bus heading out from town generally passes the one heading in somewhere between Macandrew Bay and Broad Bay so if you are only after this cache then you might just have time to do so and get the next bus into town. However, there are caches within easy walking distance to fill in your time, if you haven't already found them.
The cache itself is a 20 ml screw top container with just the aqua paper log sheet and a pencil but I would advise you to bring your own writing implement just in case the pencil is blunt or has gone. As this is a wheelchair accessible cache, please make sure that the cache is replaced against the wood, by the post as any short wheelchair users might have to find it by touch. Make sure that you cover it with the wood chips so muggles don't find it.
