This memorial is a tribute to the victims of World War II whose remains were found immediately after the liberation of the CHamoru people. Yearly celebrations are held in August instead of other memorial services of massacre sites that take place during the month of July. Descendants of the deceased visit this memorial for religious services as a tribute to the memories of those who perished.
