A baseball and soccer field at the island's southernmost village has been unused for either practices or games due to the current pandemic. The village of Malesso' takes pride in this field as it has hosted islandwide games and competitions of both sports throughout the year and it is ideal as it is far away from heavy vehicle traffic and children and youth could walk safely at all hours of the day and night up the hill. The field is flanked by the village library, the only elementary school, and the mayor's office.
