BRISTOL PARKS [9] : NIGHTINGALE VALLEY
Number 9 in the Bristol Parks series is set in Nightingale Valley. As always, collect numbers on the way around the park for the final cache co-ordinates. Don't rush, enjoy your visit and take in your surroundings.
I discovered Nightingale Valley together with St Anne's Wood (Bristol Parks 8) during lockdown life. I cycled around it many times as part of my government-approved exercise. It's such an old wood, you get a real feel for that when you walk around it. I love the ancient trees, Brislington Brook and the old packhorse bridge. It's very peaceful and beautiful in autumn when the leaves change colour and fall from the trees.
Terrain difficulty is a 2 rating as there's uneven terrain and it is very muddy and slippery in certain spots after rainfall. Also the valley is linear which means after walking to the end you need to walk all the way back.
