When I work with Scouts on the Geocaching Merit Badge, I always have them come to this park. There are always kid-friendly caches here, plus it's just a great park in general. I noticed this spot the other day while working on the badge with a couple of Scouts and knew it needed a cache. Nice and easy for the kids, but out in the open in a not overly crowded part of the park, so use stealth. Parking about 50 ft. away.
In February of 2019, girls were able to join the former Boy Scouts and the program tiltle was changed to Scouts, BSA. As of today, October 12, 2021, the boys and girls have seperate troops, but there's much speculation that the program will eventually become co-ed, as most Scout programs are in the world. The organization as a whole is still officially the Boy Scouts of America and includes Cub Scouting for kids in kindergarten-5th grade, Scouts, BSA for 5th grade-18 years old, Venturing and Sea Scouts for 14-21 year olds, and Explorers for 10-20 year olds .
