Geocache Description:

Cluedo

Cluedo is a murder mystery board game. Anthony Pratt, a British Board game designer, devised the game in 1943. Now it is owned by American games manufacturer and toy company, Hasbro. Designed for all ages, anyone 8 year olds or over can play and each game can have between 3 and 6 players. Lots of different versions of the game have been released down the years. Even a musical was released as part of the Cluedo franchise. Spinoff games of the original are distinguished by different slogans some of which have been very popular in the United States. The movie Clue was released in 1985 which starred Tim Curry. In 2001 a television mini-series also called Clue was released. Cluedo: Discover the Secrets was created in 2008 as a modern spin-off which took things too far by changing the board, gameplay and characters. Kickback was so big, with fans and media leading the criticism, that the classic version was reintroduced in 2012.

How to Play

Players need to determine who murdered the game’s victim. Each player assumes the role of one of the suspects. At the start players take turns to roll the dice and move around the board to one of the different rooms in a mansion. Collecting clues from the other players by making suggestions will allow you to start eliminating some options. Once a player has an idea who they believe committed the murder they can make an accusation. Calling out a correct accusation means that player wins the game. Keep playing if a player's accusation is wrong, the game is only over when the murder has been solved!

Strategy

Head to the nearest room and start making suggestions. Always complete your notes after finding out some information and eliminate options with care. Learn to move around board wisely, using secret passages and side doors. Lastly be sure that your accusation is correct or you will lose the game!
