Herry Monster

Herry is a large, blue, hairy, gruff monster. His nature scares the smaller Sesame Street muppets. Deep down he is a nice guy; he just doesn't know how to not come on so strong. Herry Monster debuted on Sesame Steet in 1970.

Sesame Street debuted as an educational television program for preschoolers in 1969. The show uses a combination of puppets, animation and live actors in short vignettes to teach reading, counting and math, cognitive processes, classification and basic life skills. In 2019, to celebrate the 50th Anniverary of Sesame Street, the US Postal Service released a sheet of stamps featuring 16 of the most popular and endearing Sesame Street puppets. This series of caches features these lovable, well-known characters.
