‘The way forward is sometimes the way back!’
Easily identified by his thoughtful demeanour (unseen elsewhere in the Labyrinth), the Wiseman is often so deep in thought that he becomes lost in it. He sometimes appears as though he is gazing upon a far horizon, so far beyond sight that few mortals have ever scanned it. If you can interrupt his reverie long enough to speak with him, he can lay the sum total of earthly wisdom at your feet. It is much more likely however that he will impart some manner of useless factoid or a seemingly nonsensical and totally cryptic idiomatic phrase upon you!
