This shrine has a history of at least a thousand years. It was originally located at the current Inuyama Castle tower.
However, it repeated transpositions for the construction of the Inuyama Castle, and returned to this area in the Meiji era.
This shrine is worshiped by the local community, and the Inuyama Festival is an annual festival of this shrine.
少なくとも千年以上の歴史があり、もともとは現在の犬山城天守閣の位置にあったものが、犬山城築城のために遷座を繰り返し、明治になってこの地に戻ってきた。
地域の信仰を集め、犬山祭はこの神社の例祭である。
