Blue Bonnet Swamp is composed of 103 acres of forested wetlands plus a museum filled with all types of exhibits dealing with nature.
There is over a mile of gravel trails and board walks taking you through a cypress-tupelo swamp and along a trail of beech magnolia and a hardwood forest. This site is used to actively promote migratory bird reseach via banding of birds.
This is a great place for bird watching year round.
There is a fee to walk the area but the cache is not located where you have to pay. Our intent is to introduce you to a nature areas that you can explore. We encourage you to enter and enjoy this unique area as the fee helps support the center.
