This is Girl Scout Troop 2044’s first cache!
Girl Scout Troop 2044 made this cache to fulfil the requirements for two badges (letterbox and geocache) they earned. This all started in 2019 as 3rd grade Brownies working on their Letterbox badge. But then COVID hit forcing everything to go virtual. Now back together in 2021 as 5th grade Juniors working on the geocache badge, we combined the two into a Hybrid Letterbox Geocache. The girls helped with every aspect of this letterbox geocache!
What is a hybrid letterbox geochache? It is similar to a cache except it uses clues instead of GPS technology to reveal the final location of the letterbox. The above coordinates take you to the starting location for the search, you then have to find the clues and follow them to the final cache location. (We recommend bringing a phone or camera to take a picture of the clues.) The cache can be completed as a letterbox or a cache depending if you have a stamp or not. There is a stamp with a log book for you to stamp in with your personal stamp and use our stamp for your log book. Bring your own ink pad!!! Please do not remove the stamp. If you do not have a personal stamp, just sign & date the book like a normal geocache (or make a drawing!).
They would like other scouts, kids, cachers, and letterboxers of all ages to come visit. Take pictures! The girls would love to see who discovered their cache. The final cache has room for SWAG and it is stocked with some goodies! Also, since the girls LOVE animals, we placed 4 animal themed travel bugs: Niblet the Bunny, Anise the Hedgehog, Mani the Dog, and Chai the Kitty to travel the world each with a special goal!
Note to find the clues you do NOT have to remove or damage anything. Please take care this is a special location close to our kids hearts. Once you follow your GPS coordinates to the location, you should be able to figure out the special location. You do not need to talk with anyone. Use stealth. You must follow all posted guidelines, including hours of operation and safety regulations for the location. As of 10/17/2021, masks are required and it is open: Mon-Thu: 9 am-9 pm Fri-Sat: 9 am-5 pm Sun: 1-5 pm. You will
