Šentvid pri Stični, nekdaj prafara, je v pisnih virih prvič omenjen leta 1132, v zvezi z graditvijo stiškega samostana. V središču kraja stoji barokizirana romanska župnijska cerkev svetega Vida. V razgibani okolici Šentvida so našle svoje mesto številne športne in rekreacijske dejavnosti. Priljubljena planinska točka je Gradišče nad Šentvidom z Lavričevo kočo in cerkvico sv. Nikolaja, tradicionalne prireditve v kraju pa so pohod po Lavričevi poti, dirke v motokrosu, folklorni festival, blagoslov konj, prireditve letalskega kluba in drugih društev.
V bližini Šentvida se nahaja prav posebno mesto, kjer bodo najmlajši navdušeni ob kratkem sprehodu na 470 metrov dolgi krožni poti sredi dolenjskega gozda, saj se tam lahko sreča 35 lesenih skulptur živali. Ob njih so predstavitvene table, s pomočjo katerih se lahko spozna njihove osnovne lastnosti (pri nekaterih se lahko potipa kožo ali pa posluša, kako se oglašajo). Na učni poti se nahajajo tudi rekreacijske točke in didaktična igrala, namenjena pridobivanju novih veščin in urjenju spretnosti.
Sama pot je umeščena v doživljajski park, ob prihodu pa se lahko vidi tudi znana motokros proga. Parkirnih mest je dovolj, vsebnik pa je dosegljiv tudi izven delovnega časa parka. A svetujem, da ga greste poiskati podnevi.
Šentvid pri Stični was first mentioned in written sources in 1132, in connection with the construction of the Stična monastery. In the center of the place stands the baroque Romanesque parish church of St. Vid. Numerous sports and recreational activities have found their place in the varied surroundings of Šentvid. A popular mountain spot is Gradišče nad Šentvidom with Lavričeva koča and the church of Sv. Nikolaj, and traditional events in the place are a hike along the Lavrič Trail, motocross races, a folklore festival, the blessing of horses, events of the aviation club and other societies.
Near Šentvid, there is a very special place where the youngest will be thrilled by a short walk on a 470-meter-long circular path in the middle of the Dolenjska forest, where 35 wooden sculptures of animals can be found. Next to them are presentation boards, with the help of which their basic properties can be learned (in some you can feel the skin or listen to how they sound). There are also recreational points and didactic games on the learning path, intended for acquiring new skills and practicing skills.
The trail itself is located in an adventure park, and on arrival you can also see the famous motocross track. There are plenty of parking spaces, and the container is also available outside the park's opening hours. But I advise you to go find him during the day.
