First Nation legends tell of legendary 13 foot tall cannibalistic creature which they call "The Wendigo". it is rumored to have been seen in this forested area close to Saskatoon. You are searching for an elusive cache hidden deep in these woods. Only the truly adventurous cacher should attempt to find it.Â
When you arrive at the posted parking coordinates it is best to inventory the caching tools you may need on your adventure. You should carry. IE: Bear spray, compressed air horn, hunting knife, flashlight, small hand mirror, telescoping magnetic wand, telescoping reach extender, water and trail snacks and of course a backpack to stow it all in. Yes your GPS and/or Smartphone as well
As you begin your hike the dry autumn leaves crunch under your feet the black tree shadows invade the trail and are barely dispelled by the feable beam of your flashlight, When you get closer to your destination the trail seems to narrow and close in, a dark mist seems to swirl at your feet. you feel icy fingers creep up your spine and the hair on the back of your neck begins to stand up. This is truly an evil place. A smell seems to invade the forest , rotting flesh? decaying leaves?, fungus and dead mushrooms?? Your search begins.......... good luck you may need it...........................................
Â
Cache Notes: The cache you seek is very fragile and may be unsuitable for its harsh environment Please handle it with care and carefully replace it so the next cacher may make the find as well. It contains the standard "Black Fly" log strip. you will need to bring a pencil to sign and date the log. Good luck, be safe and bring a friend along on your adventure. The posted GPS co-ordinates have been averaged over 2 seperate trips and are within GCC guidelines
Nov. 04/21 :  The Cache contailer may be gently removed from the Host at the bottom. The log can be accessed by unscrewing the top and bottom half of the cache. Please be careful when re-attaching the cache to the host. Make sure it is securely replaced for the next cacher to find.
