The 8.5-kilometer Yinhu Mountain Hiking Trail (银湖山郊野径) is part of the 25-kilometer hiking trail linking Nanshan, Futian and Luohu districts in central Shenzhen.
My favourite route, which takes the trail in the opposite direction, goes as follows:
(1) Start from the Nigang Metro Station (地铁泥岗站).
(2) Walk to the Fenggang Garden (凤岗花园) entrance. There is no significant sign board for the entrance. Just follow the map/navigation on your phone. It would be easy after finding the entrace. There are sign boards all the way. Follow the sign boards and go up the hill.
(3) The trail is quite wide at the begining, and it gets narrow after you reach cache #1. From cache #1 to #5, the trail is unpaved natural path, and it is a little bit steep at some spots.
(4) The cache #5 locates at the intersection of the natural path and the greenway. Switch to the greenway, which is a concrete road, and go downhill. Why do we switch to the greenway? Because the view is better, and there is no stairs on the greenway. Avoiding going downstairs can save your knees.
(5) Follow the greenway, fetch the cache #6 to #8, then you will be at the "Yinhu mountain entrance" (银湖山入口), which is not far from the Hanling Metro Station (地铁翰岭站).

REMEMBER: This is a 4-hour hiking route (not including the time for geocache searching). The route contains 50% unpaved natural path and 50% concrete road, with a cumulative elevation gain of around 400 meters. There would be NO SUPPLIES. Wear proper clothes and shoes, bring enough water, and leave yourself enough time.
