ABOUT THE LOCATION
The State Flag Square is located in the central part of the city of Dushanbe, near the Palace of Nations and close to the National Musuem. The layout of the park includes an artificial lake with fountains, sculptures depicting the historical forms of heroes of the past and the new building of the National Museum of Tajikistan. The construction of the flagpole began on November 24, 2010, when Tajikistan celebrated National Flag Day. The official opening took place on August 30, 2011 and was timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan's independence, which was celebrated on September 9. The flagpole, built in Tajikistan, entered the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest flagpole in the world and remained so until September 2014, when a flagpole with a height of 170 meters was installed in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). The corresponding certificate was presented to the President of Tajikistan by the representative of the Guinness Book of Records. The height of the flagpole is 165 m. The area of the flag is 1800 m⊃2;, width - 30 m, length - 60 m and it weighs almost 420 kilograms!
