The Etobicoke Creek Trail wends its way thru Brampton along the namesake creek. This is a lovely nature area to spend time in, yet not far from homes, shopping, roads and public transit.
So let me tell you the story of this cache . . .
The Robson Family (TRF) and I are working to put out this extended series of caches along the Etobicoke Creek Trail (ECT). We have split the trails into sections for each of us to place caches on. We don't discuss or consult each other on our hides, which gives us the opportunity to go find the other's hides without any inside knowledge.
One day several of Mr. TRF's new hides were published near Pearson Airport along the ECT. I was able to head out to try to find them, and was happy to be FTF on them. As I was heading back to my car, I was chatting online with Mr. TRF. I told him where I was, and he mentioned that he had placed a cache container nearby but the cache listing was denied publishing (it happens). I asked Mr. TRF if he would like me to retrieve the container and he said yes please.
I never told Mr. TRF I would return the container.
And that is the back story of how this hard-to-find container ended up at this challenging GZ. Mr. TRF and I both had a hand in this high D find...him unwittingly and me quite wittingly!
This cache (which may be a real pain to find in winter) will blend in quite well, espescially as it ages and weathers. Please watch your step going down the path from the ECT to the shore of the creek.
Update post September 2022: there is a black plastic fence up now, I was still able to pass through easily. Not ideal to find in the winter.
