During this rainy day I was getting nostalgic and remembered the good times between High school and the draft. I spent most of my free time in the North Beach area of San Francisco hanging out at coffee houses (not Starbucks). In those days the coffee houses hosted poetry and folk music and catered to the Bohemian Community (beatniks) (In modern use, the term "Bohemian" is applied to people who live unconventional and usually artistic lifestyles.) Many of the folk singers of that time would include the song "Shake A Hand" in their set. The chorus gets stuck in my mind at times and is simple to remember as it is only:
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand if you can
