Welcome to this reverse wherigo! This is a wherigo cache with a twist. The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but you will need to collect some information from that location to begin your search. The cache itself contains a logbook only - please bring your own writing instrument to sign the logbook and replace as found.
This Wherigo converts your player into a virtual version of the "Reverse Cache Box" which tells you the distance to the cache, but not the bearing. You will begin your search from the posted coordinates using your Smartphone or Wherigo compatible GPS to navigate to the cache. The cartridge was created by -Waldmeister- and is available to DOWNLOAD HERE
To determine the three six-digit codes you will need to visit the posted coordinates, locate the two monuments and use information on their plaques to answer the following questions:
- At the posted coordinates, what is the lodge number found on the smaller plaque to the north? Call this three digit number "AAA".
- The smaller plaque also has two four digit numbers on it. Call the smaller of the two numbers "BBBB".
- The smaller plaque has a symbol at the top made up of rings. Call the total number of rings "C".
- How many people are named on the larger plaque to the south (there are two columns of names)? Call this two digit number "DD".
- How many burning torches appear on the larger plaque to the south? Call this number "E".
Perform the following calculations:
- (AAA X C) + 28. Add this four digit number to 307393 to get XXXXXX
- (AAA X C X E) + 56. Add this four-digit number to 401701 to get YYYYYY
- (BBBB X DD) + 807. Add this five-digit number to 735000 to get ZZZZZZ
Enter the three six-digit codes into your player:
Your task is to find the cache by periodically querying your Reverse Cache Box for the distance to the final location. Try to use your Reverse Cache Box as few times as possible. All instructions and necessary information needed to complete the cartridge is contained within it. The cartridge is multilingual.
It is suggested that you take the codes with you on your journey. It will be needed if it becomes necessary to restart your player for any reason.
Optional:
When you have reached the final, you will be given some statistics on your quest. If you wish, you may enter the details into your log, and also post the number of times you calculated the distance.
Also, at the end of the game, you will be given a personal passcode. You can enter this passcord when you start the cartridge after you select "create" rather than "play". This passcode allows you to create your own reverse cache if you would like.
Please do not include hints in your log about where and how you found the cache or post photos that would give away the final location. Any logs that contain spoilers will be deleted.
