Spirit Quest - Carbonado Cemetery
The cache is located on the very back edge of the cemetery and is well away from any graves. It should be a very easy find especially with the use of the hint. As with any cemetery cache please be respectful of the grounds and any possible visitors or mourners that might not understand what we are doing. Limit your search to daylight hours only please. Even though there are no posted hours, do not seek this cache during hours of darkness, this is with respect to the cemetery.
The Carbonado Cemetery was established in 1880. As of 2016 there are 378 known buriels in this cemetery. This number was arrived at by a manual count of headstones in 2004, recounted in 2006 and updated 2016. So it is certainly possible that there are unmarked graves from before records were kept.
While you are here you really should take your time and have a look around. The memorial in front of the cache is dedicated to 102 men that lost their lives in the local coal mines, no names are named, but a bit about what happened is. From the cache site you might want to wander north in the cemetery. looking at the graves. There are a number of unique markers, including a few old wood markers.
