Geocache Description:

Capt. Bob used to have a cache here (GC493AY) that inspired me to place a puzzle cache, Captain Bob and the White Whale (GC4J8GP). I thought it was time to place a new cache in a place where whales can be viewed and to get one in the mindset for searching for Moby Dick! Is that a beached whale I see off in the distance?

You are looking for a small, green, four-tab container hidden in a not very winter-friendly way.

A map of Pisgah State Park can be seen here: Pisgah State Park Trail Map

There is a new trail that is not on this map that skirts the eastern shore of Kilburn Pond, the John Summers Trail. From this location, the trail can be found by going south on the Kilburn Pond Loop and looking for the left turn not very far down. The trail crosses below the dam and follows along the edge of the pond all the way up to the north end of the pond. This could come in handy if you choose to continue your search for whales.
