Cache co-ordinates taken with Garmin Etrex 10 GPS; (3m error)

This Geocache hide is a fake plastic Crow and in CLEAR view and perched on a branch at head height.

Continue along the grassy path. Look for a gap in the trees, on your RHS next to two small leaning trees. Look through the gap and you should see a large mossy stump. Continue along the same bearing. If you come across a stone (approximately 2ft in height, on the LHS of the path, then you have walked too far.

Please remember to bring TWEEZERS and something to write with. Thanks

Mushrooms are the fruit of some kinds of fungi – the rest of the fungus is made up of a web, of fine threads in the soil, tree or dead leaves.

Mushrooms are a fungus, and unlike plants, mushrooms do not require sunlight to make food for themselves. Popularly, the term mushroom is used to identify the edible fungi; the term toadstool is often reserved for inedible or poisonous fungi. There is, however, no scientific distinction between the two names, and either can be properly applied to any fleshy fungus fruiting structure.

Mushrooms grow throughout the year but are most plentiful in autumn.

Mushrooms are made up of 90% water.

Most mushrooms have a cap and a stem. Underneath the cap are gills that contain millions of baby mushrooms (spores). Mushrooms, just like plants, need to ensure that their babies are dispersed as far away as possible. Instead of relying on others (animals) to do their dirty work, mushrooms make use of the tools they have (water) to make their own wind.
