Geocache Description:

This is a 4-stage multi cache that complements the official CAM 2022 Robinson Nature Center cache (GC9K4HD). The journey to complete it will allow you to learn about some trees that are native to Maryland while you take a roughly 0.5 mile walk along the Nature Center’s Sycamore Stroll Trail, followed by a brief walk to the cache. Note the final cache location is not on Nature Center grounds, but just a short walk from the Center’s parking lot along a sidewalk. There is no need to drive to the final!

The location of the final is given. HOWEVER, to complete this cache, you will first need to go to 3 stages along the Sycamore Stroll Trail. Waypoints are given for each. At each of these stages, you will find an informational plaque identifying a specific tree native to Maryland. Match the tree identified on each plaque to the value it is assigned in the key below.

Once you have all 3 values, append them in order (i.e., Stage 1, Stage 2 and then Stage 3) and you will have a 3-digit number. You can then proceed to the final cache location and use this 3-digit number to unlock the cache. If you would like to verify you have the correct 3-digit number, you can do so by entering it into the Certitude checker below.

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.

At the time of writing, the Robinson Nature Center (including its grounds and parking lot) is open Wednesday-Saturday 9:00AM-5:00PM and Sunday 12:00PM-5:00PM. Vehicles parked in the lot after 5:00PM on those days will be locked in! In addition, on certain holidays and days with high winds the Center may close its trails to the public. Dogs and bikes are not permitted on these trails. Information on the Robinson Nature Center can be found here.

Posted coordinates are for Stage 1. Waypoints have been provided for Stages 1-3, the final cache location, trailheads, and parking. A trail map can be found here. D/T rating takes into account the process of visiting each stage to gather the needed info and the final hide (this one is meant to be fun, not hard)! There is nothing more than a log in the cache, so make sure you bring a pen. A FTF micro coin was left attached to the cache for the FTF.

As always: Don’t be that guy! Please leave the cache as good as or better than you found it. That includes re-scrambling the code on the locking mechanism of the cache before you leave!
