HR: Izgradnju džamije u Zagrebu potaknula je još 1912. Družba Braće Hrvatskoga Zmaja, ali se inicijativa brzo ugasila. Godine 1944. Dom likovnih umjetnika (projekt I.Meštrovića iz 1938.) preuređen je u džamiju, uz koju su podignuta tri minareta. Odlukom gradskih vlasti 1948.godine, džamija je iz tih prostora iseljena, a minareti srušeni.
Gradnja sadašnje džamije i Islamskoga centra, na predjelu Trstik (Folnegovićevo naselje), završena je 1987.godine. Sarajevski graditelji Džemal Čelić i Mirza Gološ izgradili su arhitektonski kompleks koji zauzima površinu od oko 10.000 m². Sastavljen je od više funkcionalnih cjelina: bogomolje s minaretom (visokim oko 51 m), islamske vjerske srednje škole (medrese), knjižnice, zajedničkih društvenih prostorija, upravne zgrade, dijela za stanovanje, gospodarskog dijela i dr. Ispred džamije uređen je park sa spomen obilježjem muslimanskim borcima poginulim u ratu za neovisnost Hrvatske. Ovaj cache vodi vas upravo u taj park. A ako ste gladni, sa stražnje strane kompleksa je ulaz u restoran sa stvarno dobrim roštiljem i baklavama. 
EN: The construction of the mosque in Zagreb was initiated in 1912 by the Society of the Brothers of the Croatian Dragon, but the initiative quickly died down. In 1944, the House of Fine Artists (a project by I. Meštrović from 1938) was remade into a mosque, next to which three minarets were erected. By the decision of the city authorities in 1948, the mosque was dislodged from there, and the minarets were demolished.
The construction of the current mosque and the Islamic Center in the area of Trstik (Folnegovićevo naselje), was completed in 1987. Sarajevo builders Džemal Čelić and Mirza Gološ built an architectural complex that covers an area of about 10,000 m2. It consists of several functional units: a place of worship with a minaret (about 51 m high), an Islamic religious high school (madrasa), a library, common social spaces, an administrative building, a residential part, an economic part, etc. In front of the mosque there is a park with a memorial dedicated to Muslim fighters killed in the war for the independence of Croatia.
