Geocache Description:

The STAG FACTORY can be seen in this 1950s photo near to Titchfield park.

It manufactured furniture from this site for 85 years and was closed in the year 2000 relocating to Scunthorpe

Stag employed John and Sylvia Reid who designed 'mass market furniture of outstanding modern design'

in 1964 they designed the Stag Minstrel range of bedroom furniture which is said to be the most successful range of furniture that the UK ever produced.  It remained in production for nearly 40 years, is still sought after today and is often upcycled.

When I was growing up, we had this piece of Stag Minstrel furniture in our hallway.

If you have found the cache you will be standing next to a wooden post on the opposite side of the road to the housing estate that was built in 2001 on the old factory site.

Do you have any memories of the Stag Factory? I would love to hear about them in your log.
