It's our Ninth Anniversary of Geocaching and anyone who has found our other anniversary caches, would know that there was an 'M' theme with the first 3. After 3 years of other Letters, we returned to 'M'..last year..back to 'P' or 2 'P's actually and this year we are back to 'N' ...... Australia Day 2022 and as it fell on a Wednesday this year, sadly we arn't camping, so it was a good opportunity to place a cache in our home town. but not in any old location either, its only a 102 meters further up the road from where we found our very first cache 'Where is Oz Mega 2014 - Nuriootpa' on 26th January 2013. Sadly with progress and new subdivisions it was recently archived. In our first year we found 643, In our second year we found 920. Our third year had us find 736, not a bad effort considering we didn't cache properly for about 6 months as we were renovating a house, in our fourth year we found 851. Our 5 year was a bit light on with only 461 found and our sixth year saw us do better with a find count of 685 with our seventh year find tally being 580. Last year...Wow..what a year that was. I think most of us would like to forget it. In between lockdowns and when we were allowed out we did manage to find 407. Sadly there were no Mega Events so the shop remained in Nuri but we were extremley grateful for the support we received from the caching community. We did seriously miss catching up with all of our interstate friends though. 2021 was a marginal improvement on 2020 but covid still got in the way. We were all set to go to the Dayboro Mega in Qld (not with the shop, only as cachers!) but thery went into lockdown a few days before we were due to fly so we had to cancel those plans and instead packed up the caravan and went to Port Broughton to sulk.As it turned out the lockdown lifted before we were due to land, so we could have gone after all....We did attend the Millicent Mega in October with the shop and we are recently just back from the Wangaratta Mega in January of 2022. 2021 saw our lowest annual find count of just 352..
The cache is a micro with just a logbook and pencil. Please use stealth here and make careful note of where the cache is and replace EXACTLY as found.
