Da quando siamo andati per la prima volta in campeggio in Sardegna nel 2003, abbiamo dovuto visitare l'Ogliastra - ci siamo affezionati a questo posto! Offre semplicemente tutto: il mare, le montagne, le grotte, le pinetas, la grande gente e le mucche e i maiali sulla strada! La Montera Pittaine è una montagna alta 489 m vicino alla città costiera settentrionale dell'Ogliastra, Santa Maria Navarrese. Da qui si può vedere a sud le montagne che delimitano la baia dell'Ogliastra, a nord le scogliere dell'altopiano di Su Golgo, a ovest la vastità dell'Ogliastra e a est il mare blu e le isole del Dragone. Ora c'è una cache nascosta quassù che vi ricompenserà con questa vista.
Il posto più facile per iniziare è da Santa Maria Navarrese, dove di solito si può parcheggiare da qualche parte e camminare fino al monumento alla Vergine Maria. In alternativa, si può parcheggiare sotto il Monumento alla Vergine Maria, dove una strada ripida ma asfaltata sale da Santa Maria Navarrese. Poi attraversa il cancello del pascolo e segui il sentiero verso l'alto fino al cartello (Trailhead). Da qui, uno stretto sentiero porta verso l'alto; all'inizio ancora ben segnato dalle stazioni, in seguito basta seguire il sentiero più frequentato, è relativamente facile.
Se siete in buona forma, si può fare in circa 1-2 ore dalla statua della Vergine Maria. La cache non è direttamente sulla croce, ma nascosta in una fessura dietro di essa. Non è necessaria alcuna arrampicata pericolosa. Guarda lo spoiler. A tutti i ciclisti (perché anch'io lo sono): lasciate perdere, non andate, dovete camminare. Non dimenticare acqua e scarpe robuste (niente sandali).
Si prega di scattare una foto dalla casella della cache in direzione della baia / croce e caricarla con la voce di registro! Sarebbe bello vedere questa vista mentre le stagioni cambiano!

Esiste anche un modo alternativo per arrivare dal punto di partenza alla croce. Il sentiero è più lungo ma meno ripido e molto bello. Il sentiero è ben segnalato (file gpx su richiesta).

Seit wir 2003 das erste Mal unseren Camping-Urlaub in Sardinien gemacht haben müssen wir die Ogliastra besuchen – dieser Flecken ist uns ans Herz gewachsen! Sie bietet einfach alles: das Meer, Berge, Höhlen, Pinetas, tolle Menschen und Kühe und Schweine auf der Straße! Der Montera Pittaine ist ein 489 m hoher Berggipfel nahe der nördlichen Küstenstadt der Ogliastra, Santa Maria Navarrese. Von hier aus sieht man nach Süden zu den Bergen, die die Ogliastra-Bucht begrenzen, nach Norden auf die Kliffs der Su Golgo Hochebene, nach Westen in die Weite der Ogliastra und nach Osten auf das blaue Meer und die Dracheninseln. Hier oben ist nun eine Dose versteckt, die euch mit dieser Aussicht belohnt.
Der einfachste Start ist von Santa Maria Navarrese aus, hier könnt ihr normalerweise gut irgendwo parken und geht zunächst zum Mariendenkmal gleich beim Parkplatz. Alternativ könnt ihr auch unterhalb des Mariendenkmals parken, hier führt von Santa Maria Navarrese aus eine steile, aber geteerte Straße hoch. Dann geht ihr durch das Weidetor und folgt dem Weg nach oben bis zum Wegweiser (Trailhead). Ab hier geht es einen schmalen Pfad nach oben; am Anfang noch gut gekennzeichnet durch die Stationen, später einfach dem am meisten begangenen Pfad folgen, ist relativ einfach.
Bei guter Kondition in etwa 1-2 Stunden von der Marienstatue aus zu bewältigen. Die Dose ist nicht direkt beim Kreuz, sondern in einer Felsspalte dahinter versteckt. Kein gefährliches Klettern notwendig. Schaut euch den Spoiler an. An alle Radfahrer (denn ich bin auch einer): vergesst es, geht nicht, ihr müsst laufen. Wasser und festes Schuhwerk (keine Sandalen) nicht vergessen.
Bitte macht ein Bild von der Cachedose aus in Richtung Bucht/Kreuz und ladet es mit eurem Logeintrag hoch! Es wäre schön, diese Aussicht im Wandel der Jahreszeiten zu sehen!

Es gibt auch eine alternative Möglichkeit, vom Startpunkt zum Kreuz zu kommen. Der Weg ist zwar länger aber nicht so steil und ebenfalls sehr schön. Der Weg ist ganz gut markiert (gpx file auf Nachfrage).

Since we made our first camping vacation in Sardinia in 2003 we have to visit Ogliastra - this spot has grown on us! It simply offers everything: the sea, mountains, caves, pinetas, great people and cows and pigs on the road! Montera Pittaine is a 489 m high mountain peak near the northern coastal town of Ogliastra, Santa Maria Navarrese. From here you can see south to the mountains that border the Ogliastra Bay, north to the cliffs of the Su Golgo plateau, west to the vastness of Ogliastra and east to the blue sea and the Dragon Islands. There is now a cache hidden up here that will reward you with this view.
The easiest start is from Santa Maria Navarrese, here you can usually park somewhere and go first to the Monument to the Virgin Mary directly near the parking place. Alternatively, you can park below the Monument to the Virgin Mary, here from Santa Maria Navarrese a steep but paved road leads up. Then go through the pasture gate and follow the path upwards until you reach the signpost (Trailhead). From here it goes up a narrow path; at the beginning still well marked by the stations, later just follow the path most traveled, is relatively easy.
With good condition in about 1-2 hours to cope from the statue of Mary. The cache is not directly at the cross, but hidden in a crevice behind it. No dangerous climbing necessary. Check out the spoiler. To all cyclists (because I am one too): forget it, don't go, you have to walk. Do not forget water and sturdy shoes (no sandals).
Please take a picture from the cache box in the direction of the bay/cross and upload it with your log entry! It would be nice to see this view as the seasons change!

There is also an alternative way to get from the starting point to the cross. The path is longer but not as steep and also very nice. The path is quite well marked (gpx file on request).
