We were cleaning out the attic of my Uncle Tom's house and we ran across this letter that was stamped “return to sender”. Apparently this lady’s man considered himself to be quite the talker! It is quite interesting, so I thought I would share it with you. Here it is!
Jenny,
Who can I turn to? You just seem to give me something that I can hold on to. I know you’ll think that I’m like the others before, who saw your name and number on the flyer on the wall of the grocery store where you advertised for nanny services. But, Jenny, I’ve got your number and I need to make you mine. So please, whatever you do, don’t change your number!
You are the girl for me. I know you really don’t know me, but you make me so happy. It is going to be hard to believe this, but I just wanted you to know that I tried to call you before, but I lost my nerve. I’ve tried to picture my life without you, but it just drove me crazy. So, as you can see, I really did try using my imagination, but I was just too disturbed.
I got it! I got it! If you just want to go out for a good time, we can do that! I hope you feel the same way and are thinking, “Call me for a good time. Just call!” Jenny, I don’t know who else to turn to, but I know for the price of a dime, I can always turn to you! Can I just give you a call?
