This cache is next to part of a paved trail that has become a local attraction for the painted rocks decorating one side of the trail. The painted rocks started appearing in the spring of 2020 during the Covid pandemic quarantine and they were fun messages of hope and beauty for passers-by when physical distancing was bringing many new walkers on the trail. There is a great variety of decoration and styles -- as you search for the cache, be sure to enjoy -- but don't disturb -- the beautiful painted rocks along the trail. As you sign the logbook, please list a favorite that you viewed along the trail. The cache is stocked with smaller rocks -- some painted and some not. You are welcome to take a rock even if you don't have one to trade. Even better if you come with a painted rock to exchange or add to the supply!
Parking for the trail is available on the east side of North County Blvd off Caddie Lane.
