Yes, you read the event title correctly - I have trackables to give away.
To celebrate the release of World of Warcraft®: Wrath of the Lich King – A Pandemic System Board Game, Geocaching has teamed up with Z-Man Games and Blizzard to release 4,200 limited-edition trackables of Jaina Proudmoore, Lady Liadrin, Muradin Bronzebeard, Tirion Fordring, Sylvanas Windrunner, Thrall, and Varian Wrynn around the world.
Not familiar with those names? Fear not for these heroes have the same mission as all trackables: to travel.
I've volunteered to help Geocaching HQ distribute these trackables to my local geocaching community at a meet and greet event on Saturday, December 4 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. The tags will be distributed in a fair and fun manner, while supplies last. Come to the event to learn which of the 7 heroes are here. If you receive a trackable at this event, Geocaching HQ and I kindly request that you activate it as soon as possible and keep it moving from cache to cache.
- Everyone who attends and signs the log will be entered into the door prize drawing.
- Anyone dressed in a WoW-style costume will receive an extra entry.
- At the end of the drawing, one trackable will be awarded to the cacher who came the furthest.
- Schedule:
- 1:00pm-1:25pm: Sign the log, get your ticket(s), mingle with others.
- 1:25pm-1:30pm: Group picture(s).
- 1:30pm-2:00pm: Trackables distributed.
- Make sure to dress for the weather! This is an outside event. In Minnesota. In December.
Help the heroes of Azeroth keep up the march and complete their quests. Share your images on social media using #WoWcache and tag @ZManGames_ (Instagram and Twitter) and @ZManGames (Facebook).
Like the board game, players must work together and complete 3 quests in order to reach the final confrontation with the Lich King himself. Moving the trackables will gain mileage, thus assisting the whole community in completing these quests. After each quest is completed, players will unlock free print and play rewards for the board game from Z-Man Games.
- Quest 1: 250,000 miles
- Quest 2: 600,000 miles
- Quest 3: 900,000 miles
- Icecrown Citadel: 1,250,000 miles
