DO NOT go on Rebecca Lane. If you use your car GPS and use the GZ coordinates, it will probably want you to go on Rebecca Lane. Please don’t - it is a private drive and there is no public parking on it. Use either of the parking coordinates provided. The cache is placed with permission of the landowner with a specific request people not use Rebecca Lane.
“Sometimes I just sits” is the end of a phrase attributed to lots of different people (including Satchel Paige and Winnie the Pooh!) that goes something like “Sometimes I sits and thinks and sometimes I just sits.” The GZ is a great place to just sit with wonderful views of mountains, the sound, the sky, and farmland. You are surrounded by a lot of history with the Jacob Ebey house behind you, the first land claim on the island under you, and the house for the Ebey Landing ferry in your field of view. But you don’t have to think about it - just sit!
For the cache itself, if you are sitting on the bench your two feet are within two feet of it.
Parking at the end of Cemetery Road at the Ebey Historical Reserve HQ trailhead is the closest parking with about a half mile level round trip. No pass required. Parking at the Ebey Landing State Park requires a Discover Pass and is about a 1.5 mile round trip with a significant climb.
