This traditional cache is one of several caches we will lay on this beautiful walk along the precipitous walking trail high above the water's edge of Brenton-on-Sea, on the Western Head of the Knysna Estuary.
You are walking on top of the highest fossil dunes in South Africa. These dunes were formed over 2 million years ago; they extend from the west of Wilderness near Kaaimans River all the way right up to Brenton on Sea!
Well known to locals but a hidden gem usually to visitors, this area you might otherwise not discover will be brought to you once again by your little geocaching hobby! Come here any time of day, even for sunset. The views are stunning and the walk is flat if you stay up top.
From the end of the trail you can even descend on a steep walk (partially reinforced with wooden steps) down to the beach and The Block, a small peninsual towards the east, from where you might even see dolphins passing close by.
BYOP.
