This lake makes up part of the Lake Campion Nature Reserve. Seasonal variation causes the area to never be same with rising and falling lake levels. Some lakes hold water all year round, others dry to salt husks during summer. Almost no light pollution makes this reserve well known by night sky photographers.
As you can see in the gallery, the lake can provide astonishing colours and is surrounded by wildflowers in the right season.
This cache can be found at a very rudimentary campsite. BYO everything if you plan to stay. Access can be made by a two-wheel drive car with good clearance. This advice depends on the season so check the local guides and take all the precautions as phone reception is almost none out here. Good gravel roads lead you out here if you come from Young Road onto Stock Road.
The cache itself is an easy find being an ammo can in a fallen tree at waist height. Ensure it is well hidden after returning it to its hidey hole.
