Geocache Description:

This cannon was recovered from Table Bay near Cape Town in 1950 where it lay buried after sinking during a hurricane in 1799 on board the Royal Navy ship HMS Sceptre, alongside its other 63 guns and 291 hands onboard.

The blubber cauldron next to it is a memory to the whaling activities along the Cape of Good Hope coast from 1796. It came to Plettenberg Bay to be used at the Norwegian whaling station on Beacon Island until 1913.

About the cache container:
The magnetic nano cache container is well camouflaged and not easy to find.
Once admin is done, roll up logsheet snugly and place into the CAP / TOP of the container, so the next cacher can retrieve it as well! Thank you.
