Welcome to the "West Side" of Wildlife Prairie Park! (Note: you must pay an admission fee, or have a membership, in order to hike at this not-for-profit park. The West Side is outside the park's Main Gate and there's a kiosk for registration.)
This cache is part of the Upper West Side Loop, which meanders through the northern portion of the hiking and biking trails in the West Side of the park, as well as the Disc Golf course. There is a map at the kiosk near the parking lot and the trails are well-marked. There are some larger, more family-friendly caches as well as some smaller bison tubes and preforms with room for only the log and a coin or two.
Caches are generally located near a trail, and no bushwhacking is required to get from cache to cache. Stay alert for cyclists, as the trails are multi-use and are frequently used by mountain bikers. And watch for Disc Golfers anytime you're crossing or adjacent to a golf hole.
If you start from the West Side parking lot and hike just the portion of trails required to find this cache group, you can expect to hike around 3 miles with a few significant elevation changes. Not a bad idea to check a topo map when planning your route.
