Geocache Description:

This cache reprises a cache placed by Bowie Park Rangers to celebrate Bowie's Centennial in 2016.

The cache is located at Allen Pond Park, one of the major parks in Bowie. Allen Pond is a ten-acre man-made lake that drains into the Collington Branch. The park contains a boathouse with seasonal boat rentals, a gazebo that overlooks the pond and park, an amphitheater, fishing, ball fields, picnic areas and a skateboard park.

The pond, which was part of a farm owned by James Allen, was sold to William Levitt, the developer of Belair at Bowie in 1965, with Allen making a request that the pond and surrounding area become a park for the community.

Take your time walking the trail to the cache, and while at GZ enjoy the view!

Please be mindful that this is a high muggle area and place the cache back carefully so that it is well hidden.

Happy Caching!

Cache has been approved by the City of Bowie Park Operations
