Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for noticing my geocache!
Just outside Carolina Pines Park there are roads named after characters from The 'Hundred Acre Wood' stories by A.A. Milne, including Rabbit Run, Owl's House Lane, Kanga Circle and, of course, Winnie Place. But no mention of poor Eeyore.
So to celebrate this special occasion AND in an effort to cheer our friend Eeyore, I wanted to place a cache in his honour. Lots of folks think he's always just gloomy and moody, but the thing I love about Eeyore is that it really doesn't take much to make him feel happy, appreciated and grateful.
The container is a cylindrical tin with a snap-shut plastic top. Please make sure to latch it back securely so the gasket keeps any water out. Because little black rain clouds and all. Also, please be gentle with the tin as I'm hoping it will stay in fairly good condition, despite being exposed to the elements. I've got it covered with leaf litter because it would kind of stand out to muggles otherwise. So please cover it back thoroughly when you're finished.
I thought about hiding this near the very popular Carolina Pines Dog Park, but a few of the dogs 'talked' me out of it. I didn't want to get too far from the subject matter though so the cache is still within view of one of the road signs, just barely.
There is a Right in the Rain notepad log, an unregistered FTF token for the lucky first finder, a bit of 'Hundred Acre Wood' swag (to be periodically restocked) plus a handful of various other goodies, including a few small compass medallions (non-trackable) to help you find your way in case you decide to lead an expotition to the North Pole, just to make sure you can find your way home again in time for supper. Geocachers do tend to be an adventurous lot, after all 😊
And oh yeah, Eeyore's idea of a delicious feast is a bunch of yummy thistles. Also, butterflies make him happy 🦋
Thanks for helping me cheer Eeyore by visiting this 'Hundred Acre Wood' hide ... and Happy Caching!
As a fun and festive bonus, here's a short video (the final segment of a longer video) about when the 'Hundred Acre Wood' crew realize what Thanksgiving is really all about 🍂

Congratulations to letsgeocache04 for being FTF 🙂
Note added on June 19, 2022, just in case you didn't see it in the activity log:
So after think, think, thinking about how to redo this one, I decided to just go micro. The original metal canister with the fun Winter scene of our 'Hundred Acre Wood' friends playing in the snow has been completely swag-raided anyway. And honestly, as much as I wanted to share how cute the container was with all my fellow-cachers, it was not really practical to try to keep it inconspicuous during times when there's not a lot of leaf litter about.
That being the case, I gave Eeyore a big bright blue bison-tube hanging from a branch on the same tree, just slightly harder to spot from the trail but still fairly easy. Please resist the temptation to play PoohSticks with this limb 🙂
The tube is large enough that it could potentially hold a very small or narrow item, but for now, I've only included a log to sign. Obviously, you'll need to bring your own writing instrument 🖊
Also, please make sure the ○-ring stays in-place so the log doesn't end-up soggy. Donkeys tend to be miserable when soggy and we certainly don't want that 💙
Okay y'all, cache on!
