Geocache Description:

https://www.cotyroneireland.com/graveyard/leckpatrick/leckpatrick.html

Leckpatrick Graveyard is situated in the parish of Leckpatrick, County Tyrone about one kilometre north of the village of Ballymagorry on Victoria Road, the main road between Strabane and Londonderry, with Ballyheather Road on the southern boundary.

The oldest know gravestone is the one for John Mag(h)ee 1617.

My husband, Ron Logue, always told me he had seen a map in 1953 when helping to dig the grave for a recently deceased elderly Robinson relative. At that time, the graveyard had a caretaker, Mr Willie Kelly. He was in charge of the map and was able to show people where family members were to be buried. Later the Strabane District Council took over the care of the graveyard.

I had mentioned the map to several people and in 2005 Johnny Dooher, while working at the Strabane District Council, found the 1877 map in a cupboard there.

During our last visit to Ireland in 2006 Johnny arranged for Ron & I to inspect the map and Ron was able to take these photos then.

The map was in a very bad condition, with many sections completely missing, however I have attempted to put together a surname & address reference to grave numbers from what has survived.
