About the Reservoir 关于水库
The Meilin Reservoir was built in 1956, and its main purpose was to serve agricultural irrigation at that time. With the development of the Shenzhen city, the reservoir, which was once surrounded by farmland, is now located in the central urban area, only 3 kilometers away from the Futian CBD. In order to improve flood control capability, a new dam was built in the Meilin Reservoir in the early 1990s. The four big Chinese characters "梅林水庫" on the dam can be seen on satellite maps.
梅林水库初建于1956年，最初的目的主要是服务于农业灌溉。随着深圳城市的发展，曾经被农田包围的水库，今天已位于中心城区，距离福田CBD仅3公里。为了提高防洪能力，水库在1990年代初增建了一座新的大坝。在卫星地图上可以看到大坝上的四个大字"梅林水庫"。
