It's 2s Day Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

Jackscruff: Thanks to everyone who came along to my first event It's 2s Day. It was great to see so many caching buddies who braved the weather, the first day of our 'wet spell'.
Despite the way the weather looked earlier in the day it cleared for the event and it seems from the comments and photos everyone enjoyed the event and the location.

I hope you all found or attended something else and achieved your souvenir for the special date.

Now a month later, 22-3-22, another palindromic date, but not quite as good as all 2s, it's time to Archive this event.

Cheers,
Jackscruff

Geocache Description:

22 February 2022, 17:30 - 18:30

It's 2s Day

My 2 Geodogs

If you write today's date the Australian way, the correct way, all the numbers are the same!

22-2-22

This is the only date this millennium where this will occur.

It's also a Tuesday, or Twosday as kids say.

Come along and celebrate this marvellous date!

I have been watching this date approach all my life as I was born on the 22nd February, on a Tuesday.

Interesting facts about this date

- sunrise 6.37am

- sunset 7.42pm

- evening twilight 7.42pm - 8.08pm

- evening golden hour (best for photography) 7.09pm - 7.40pm

- length of day = 13 hours and 4 minutes

- solar noon (the sun's highest point) 1.10pm

The Location Manns Point, Greenwich at the cul-de-sac end of Prospect Street.

This wonderful and little known spot on Sydney Harbour is elevated with great views towards the Bridge and the City, across to Balmain, Birchgrove and Cockatoo Island and down the Lane Cove River towards the Gladesville Bridge.

There is plenty of parking and it's accessible by public transport, both bus and ferry and is a nice walk from Wollstonecraft Station.

There is some interesting history at this spot, but you'll have to come to the event to learn about that!

Warning - this date is traditionally a wet day so best to bring a brolly!
