Geocache Description:

Welcome to Columbia's Legion Square located in Friendship Park!

The cache is NOT at the posted coordinates!

This is a pretty simple 2-stage Multicache. The actual cache is a short drive away. Look for a hanging bison tube.

The American Legion Post #90 was formed in 1920, and the current officers initially wanted to unveil this project to commemorate the Post's 100th Anniversary. The COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020 pushed the project back, and the monument was made open to the public a year later. Dedicated on July 3, 2021 the 44,000 pound gray granite monument is 12 ft tall and 20 ft long. Red bricks with the names of Military Veterans surround the structure.

Congrats to mbooda for the FTF!
