ISQ Ney Cemetery
The Ney Grange Station served as an early post office and was established about 1851 with Mr. G. Goodsill as the Postmaster. The Grange hall was built in 1849 as a central meeting place for the men and their families. Ney cemetery is in DeKalb County and in the Genoa Township.
Genoa furnished the Union Army with 109 men or 68% of her arms-bearing population. One of those men who lost his life, Ellis Buck, is buried here. His relative that lead his regiment is also buried in this cemetery. The Bucks were a well respected family in this township and county as more than once Daniel Buck served as Genoa Township Supervisor. Take a look around at the beautiful, old headstones, you'll discover many treasures.
