This cache overlooks the Shropshire planes as far as the eye can see. It is tucked away and boasts a view that many travelers by in the car wont see. It can be done as a cache and dash with parking nearby or you can follow the public footpath on towards the Old Windmill that overlooks the planes. The cache location It rises from the valley of the River Severn, and is encircled by hills including the Stiperstones and the Devil’s Chair, Cornden, the Long Mountain, the Breiddens, Middletown Hill, Rodney’s Pillar, the Berwyns, Nesscliffe, Grinshill and the Wrekin - all can be seen on a 360 degree panoramic horizon.
Please note when accessing the cache from the parking area at a nearby eating establishment, to join onto the public footpath if you do not want to walk through the eatery you will need to walk on a fairly narrow grass verge for approx 10m before turning left. THIS ROAD CAN GET VERY BUSY AT TIMES AND CARS ARE TRAVELLING AT SPEED SO PLEASE TAKE EXTRA CARE ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE GEOKIDS WITH YOU. The ground near the GZ can also get muddy at times and is a little uneven so please wear appropriate footwear.
The cache is a micro container. Please replace securely (a good push should do it) to ensure it doesn't fall out for the next catcher. You will need to bring a pen and tweezers for this cache.
Due to the nearby eating establishment stealth will be required especially in the summer time if there are people outside. So please be respectful.
