We hide caches in places that are special to myself and the kids. Gem, Si, Bear and I spend a lot of time on Plum Creek and while we don't want to give away our most secret of spots, we love sharing some of our favorite spots.
When I was a child I would drive by Louviers, and at Kelly Road there was a sign on one of the buildings which read: "Hellsville, USA". It was a reference to the fact that Louviers was a company town built by Du Pont. And at this factory they made dynamite. Any time it could blow.
Drive through the neighborhood. It's unique. Unlike any other place I've known. Folx are friendly. They wave. But they're also protective of their little village. And rightfully so: trails criss-cross all through the meadows along Plum Creek here. It's nearly unknown. Invisible to the rest of the world. And they seem to like it that way.
This is a special place. But it's a bit mysterious: the yellow Lupine the Cypress Spurge that you see in all the meadows are pretty but they're also poisonous.
Be careful in Hellsville, USA.
