Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES!!

😁😁  𝐖𝐄Ⓛ𝓬𝓞𝔪€ 丅𝐨 𝓽ħ𝔢 𝑔𝓇єⒶⓣ 𝐓ℝ𝐞𝐞 c𝒽คlĹεNģE  😁😁

And despite the name, it isn't a challenge cache

                                                                        →↑

Today you will be embarking on a great challenge, designed to test you both mentally and physically.

I know that a lot of people don't like tree climbs so I have compacted ELEVEN tree climbs into the one cache, so you only have one annoying icon on your map rather than eleven. None them are SUPER high and none should require a large amount of effort (and a lot of them can be done pretty easily with a TOTT)

This cache is also for people who may be new to the whole tree climbing business. As it will show you different types of tree climbs that you may find while caching.

At each waypoint, you will have to climb a tree and inside a bison tube you will find a piece of paper saying something like "A=192" (spoiler alert, A ISN'T 192)

Then find out what to do with them ;)

NOTE:

Some of the tree climbs will require stealth as many of them are near footpaths, these include:

(A)(B)(D)(F)(H)(I)(J)

Some of these tree climbs are more challenging than others, these include:

(A)(D)(G)(I)

Some of these trees may require a boost to get into them easily, these include:

(B)(C)(E)(F)(G)(H)(I)

I would recommend doing this cache on a bike, using a friend or with a stool or TOTT in the car as many of these are much easier with a boost.

As this is a letterbox hybrid there are two stamps in the cache (two bad ones, maybe go with the blue one, they were all I could find). DO NOT TAKE THE STAMPS, THEY ARE NOT SWAPS!!

(And I am only 50kg and 1.5m, just to note)

ATTEMPT THIS CACHE AT YOUR OWN RISK! WHILE NONE OF THE TREE CLIMBS ARE VERY DIFFICULT, THEY CAN STILL BE DEADLY IF YOU FALL!

Tree A - Walk the Plank! (S 35 15.535 E 149 06.768)

Instead of climbing UP a tree, you are climbing OUT! While climbing most trees, you want to stay as close to the trunk as possible. However, for this type of tree climb, you are doing the complete OPPOSITE! Also in these white trees, there isn't a very obvious 'trunk' they end up going in many different directions rather than up.

Walking the plank can be difficult and quite scary, especially if the branch is thin-ish (like this one), you are high up or if there isn't anything else to grab hold of to support yourself. For these tree climbs I suggest NOT walking it like the name suggests, because unless you have a branch to grab on, you can be a lot more unsupported and more likely to slip. To add to that, the branch is usually round, which increases the likelihood of falling if you put your foot in the wrong area. I suggest sitting on the branch and having your legs dangle off either side, then pushing yourself up the branch with your arms until you reach the cache.

It is also good to note that this cache is also fairly difficult to spot, I had to look for a good 10 minutes to locate it when I revisited it, keep looking outward! Guess it is subsituating for the move in (I)!

Tree B - At the Limit! (S 35 14.730 E 149 08.931)

Often a cache is at the VERY top of the tree, like at the point where you can't step up another branch because there ISN'T one left. This can be pretty problematic sometimes, especially when it's windy and the whole tree sways. So get used to going on pretty thin branches to reach your prize!

This cache is hidden in a pretty small tree, but at the very highest point (or at least pretty close to it). This tree also may require a TOTT to get into, or maybe you are tall enough to get in yourself. Once you are up, look around for the cache and go UP!!

Watch out for muggles in this area too as they seem to enjoy walking around, luckily the leaves should give you quite a bit of cover.

Tree C - Difficult Start! (S 35 16.063 E 149 07.330)

Sometimes a tree can be VERY difficult to get into but once you are up, it is smooth sailing. This is the exact case with this tree. You will probably require a TOTT or some teamwork to get into the tree, but once you are in it, it should be easy to climb up and reach the cache.

While placing this particular tree climb, I used a bike to get me up to the first branch and that is what I think you should use unless you have a ladder, if you do, this one should be a piece of cake. You can also get up there with a friend if you have any that are willing. Keep in mind though that I am only 1.5m and many people are taller and would have an easier time getting up there.

Tree D - Reach! (S 35 15.176 E 149 08.965)

This particular tree climb involves climbing UP, then reaching for the cache as it is out of grasp range. It is like a mini walk the plank. This one was quite difficult for me to place as I don't have very long arms, but for the ones that do, it should be a piece of cake :)

You aren't climbing SUPER high to get the cache as it is a bit more about the reach aspect but it is no means a tiny climb.

Also it is important to note that this tree can be very slippery after rainfall, so don't attempt it right after it rains like I did!

Tree E - Branches Aplenty! (S 35 16.102 E 149 07.313)

Sometimes in a tree, you don't have enough branches to get yourself up to the next level and you have to stop. However this time it's the opposite problem. And yes, it CAN be a problem sometimes! There are so many branches everywhere that you can have a difficult time getting to the top because you have to dodge so many! Not to mention having your clothes catch on those annoying tiny unbroken twigs!

This is the main reason the cache is not located at the TOP of the tree, so many branches just got in my way so I had to place it a little lower, which is probably a good thing for you ;)

But if the branches are DEAD and there is a limited amount of ALIVE branches then you have a problem, it's pretty difficult and risky! (FORESHADOWING) You CAN climb on the dead branches but that can be pretty risky a lot of the time. If you HAVE to step on the dead branches then make sure to step on the part closest to the trunk because it is the strongest part of the branch and will reduce the chance of the branch breaking and to maintain three points of contact so if it does break you don't go flying down to mother earth.

Tree F - Leaning! (S 35 15.195 E 149 08.925)

This time you aren't exaclty going up, you are instead going up a bit leaning, slanted? I don't really know how to describe it. But you aren't going up, mostly because the tree is leaning a bit. This time the tree isn't leaning THAT much, unlike a couple other caches out there but you can't say it isn't! :)

These trees are often a lot shakier at the top, just warning you!

Tree G - More than a bit dead! (S 35 15.324 E 149 07.681)

Remember what I said about the difficulty of climbing a tree with a lot of dead branches? Well that was foreshadowing ;) This tree is alive from the center but has quite a few dead branches here and there! Okay maybe more than just a few. BUT! There are still a few alive branches here and there.

The cache isn't super high and the climb isn't very difficult, but don't break the dead branches and always maintain three points of contact.

Remember, if you are climbing the tree and have to put your foot or hand on a dead branch, DO IT CLOSEST TO THE TRUNK, as that is where it is strongest, good luck! :)

Tree H - Circle around! (S 35 14.962 E 149 8.487)

This climb is quite simple and easy but you do have to move around the trunk quite a bit, or maybe that's just me because I'm short. Maybe you will be able to do it a bit easier :)

The cache should also be very obvious and easy to spot from ground level too. It is just generally a easy climb but maybe a bit slippery here and there!

The cache also has nice views inside the pool when you get high enough!

Tree I - Where is it??? (S 35° 15.500 E 149° 07.638)

Some tree climbs focus on the difficulty aspect more than the terrain, considering there is so many places to hide a cache in a tree! This tree holds a container that is golden and much smaller than the rest. It was moved to a easier tree on 20/12/21 and is now easier to spot but the climb is harder! The tree it is in is a bit difficult to get into, I would recommend bringing a TOTT.

Tree J - Traditional One! (S 35 15.192 E 149 08.912)

For the last tree climb (well second last if you are counting the final) it is a pretty easy one! No tricks, most people can easily reach the first branch and from then on it's really easy, just climb, climb and climb some more :)

So you did the trees, you though it was over? Well it isn't... Time for...

THE PUZZLE :)

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY HUNTING!

Congrats to Fox in Jox, AngelG27, TikvaNZ, ZQX, Flintstone's, Tankengine and Aquilus1 for FTF!

I would also like to congratulate asbestiform for being the first person to do it solo and with no ladders!

Then immediately afterwards this was followed by Loci612 doing the same, congrats!
