Gethsemane Cemetery was opened in 1961, when New Hope was in the transition from a rural to suburban community, and covers 80 acres. Nearly 13,000 burials have taken place at Gethsemane since its founding.
The Gethsemane Chapel Mausoleum was opened in 1995, offering more than 1,000 crypt spaces and some 1,000 cremation niches. The carpeted year-round chapel is used for family services as well as an annual Christmas Mass of Remembrance, which draws several hundred people each December.
You do not need to go inside the mauseleum. All of the information you need is outside the building.
