The cache is not at the posted coordinates. However, they are a great place to park.
May 16, 2022 Update: the final cache has totally changed: the size was upgraded from small to regular, is no longer hanging, and has been moved slightly. Note that the field puzzle information has been updated too. If you previously visited the virtual stages and don't want to do it all over again, you can simply add 0.009' to the N of the old final coordinates and subtract 0.015' from the W.
Welcome to West Fraser Timber Park. One of Quesnel's larger parks, it features softball and baseball diamonds; tennis, sand volleyball and pickleball courts; lawn bowling; a playground; nature education centre; and a small trail network. And several geocaches, of course.
Here's the latest addition with an easy, family-friendly multi-cache.
Simply visit the 6 stages to collect a virtual piece of information for the final. I numbered the stages to minimize distance, but you may choose to visit them in any order you'd like. Pay close attention to the numbering of the stages vs. the letter corresponding to them (stage 1 = A, stage 2 = B etc. is never true).
The final cache can be found at N 52° 58.ABC' W 122° 29.DEF'
A = number of fish on the stone sculpture
B = number of benches (wooden + stone combined) in the gardens
C = first digit of the two-digit number on the fire hydrant between "M" and "Brigadier"
D = last digit of the year of dedication on the bench
E = sum of the last two digits of the caboose's number
F = last digit of the second year on the bench dedicated to Dave Arnold
Start to finish, this multi should take under an hour to complete. Though the cache is an easy hide, deep snow would make the cache more difficult and the trek a hard slog without snowshoes. Follow the open area to a deer trail near some boulders. Watch for thorns and burrs. Note that the park gates are locked daily at 6 pm from November-April and 10 pm from May-October. Cache was initially stocked with a logbook, cachenote, pencil, and several trading items. Enjoy the tour of the park!
